Do I Have Wedding Cake In My DNA?

🍪 🧁 🍨 🍩 🍰 🥮

I recently had my DNA sequenced – mostly for medical reasons (best news: all good!). Expected the results on the ancestry portion, mostly northern European. Surprised to find 3.5% Persian – not part of our known family history.

I didn’t know the result included a list of likely traits. Things like height, sleep habits, muscle type, taste sensitivity. Most seemed pretty accurate.

Especially: You likely have a sweet tooth.

Well, yes. I am a dessert-first kind of person. It’s the first menu item I plan when entertaining. And I always check the dessert menu at the restaurant to see if I need to save room. So, it makes sense to me that the cake should be a focus point of a wedding.

But there are so many other options. Sundae bars, candy buffets, donut walls, cookie trays, cupcake trees, cheesecake, brownies, croquembouche and sheet cakes. My niece had a “procession of pies” at their reception. They all sound wonderful, making it hard to choose.

Let our “sweet” specialists help you navigate these delicious decisions. Check them out here:
