Passing The Torch

Passing The Torch

Norm and Wendy Wasserman with Mardi Hull

With the passing of Norm Wasserman, Mardi Hull takes over the helm at Wendy’s Wedding Expo.

Passing The Torch

Here at Wendy’s Wedding Expo, we take pride in our long history (45 years!) of producing the highest quality wedding expo. We curate our vendors from among the best in the greater Cincinnati area, we don’t cut corners, and we put on a fantastic and fun runway fashion show. We have learned these things set us apart from other shows and make a great day for local brides and grooms, and the vendors that are there to make planning for their special day easier. This format came from the experience and understanding of our founder, Norm Wasserman and his wife Wendy. We have recently lost Norm, who was part of the foundation of the wedding industry in Cincinnati. We will take what we learned from him and continue on proudly.

One of our most faithful participants, Bill Teater of Great Day Productions, shared this about Norm:

Norm was an outstanding individual and a man of great character. My first encounter was at a bridal show 34 years ago and I was amazed at the high level of quality of the first show I was part of. Over the years I saw a man who was always open to new ideas and never afraid to try new avenues to promote and make his show what it was known for …….. the best in the entire area. He was without question a pioneer in the bridal industry in Cincinnati and he set a standard that all others tried to meet. His efforts were often imitated but never matched. I so appreciated his willingness to share his knowledge and insight into his business with me over the years. I will forever be grateful to Norm and I will forever think of him in ALWAYS THE BEST WAYS. You will be greatly missed my friend.

If you have been in the wedding industry in Cincinnati for a while, you probably have your own stories about Norm. We would love to reminisce with you!

A New Chapter Begins

A New Chapter Begins

New Location!

Hello Brides and Grooms! You are beginning a new chapter in your life, planning a wedding and future with your partner. At Wendy’s Wedding Expo we are also beginning a new chapter. After 51 years, Wendy’s Bridal in Cincinnati has closed. Fifty-one years earned the owners a well-deserved retirement! Although Wendy’s no longer sells bridal gowns in Cincinnati, the wedding show will go on. The name “Wendy’s” has been synonymous with wedding planning in Cincinnati for nearly five decades, as we have hosted the largest wedding expo in the area for 45 years. (We don’t call it a bridal show any more because grooms like to plan weddings, too!)

With Duke Energy Convention Center undergoing major renovations, we are relocating our 2025 show to the Sharonville Convention Center. Same great expo, with dozens of the area’s best wedding vendors and a runway fashion show, just a different location. And, free parking!

We have been and continue to be proud of offering this annual opportunity for the area’s finest wedding vendors to connect with Cincinnati brides and grooms. It’s a win-win-win for vendors, brides, and grooms, and that makes us happy! We have inherited the original owner’s sense of pride, and will continue to provide a show that has earned a well-respected place in Cincinnati’s wedding planning community.

Year-Round Wedding Planning

But wedding planning is not limited to one weekend a year. So we are introducing Wendy’s wedding planning blog, “Vendor Voices,”  where Wendy’s wedding vendors will offer wedding planning tips and advice year-round. Check back to see as we post tips and advice from the Wendy’s family of wedding vendors, including wedding venues, photographers, florists, DJs, caterers, wedding planners, and so much more.
